I don't get much of a chance to see the leaves unless I drive up to the north of the state. So I get my fall fix vicariously through others pictures. Imagine my surprise and delight to find a package from a friend who recently moved to Wisconsin, filled with colorful leaves! I laminated them and put them up on a bulletine board at school. The kids might not appreciate them, but I love looking at them!

Cindy, my cousin sent me a red maple leaf the year I lived in Hawaii.

Our foliage in Kentucky isn't very pretty this year due to the extended summer drought we had. DH and I are driving to Cumberland Gap next week to see if it's better in the mountains.

But I didn't come upon that Wild Bill Jones. I took more pictures today and put 25 more on the same page.

Beautiful country. Thanks for posting the pictures. I myself was in western Pennsylvania this past week visiting relatives and was pleased to find that there were still some leaves on the trees. Most years they are gone by this time of the year.

That is the Hudson River area, isn't it? I've never been there, and know if mostly from fiction and painting. I enjoy the Hudson River School artists and "summer camp" architecture. I remember reading Anya Seton's Dragonwyck years ago, and I vaguely recall that it was set around there somewhere.
