I read this when it first came out years ago. I remember liking it, but don't remember much else. It's not the sort of book you read for a plot, being more dreamlike prose poem than actual story. I've often thought I need to pick it up again and re-read it. Oddly enough, what I remember most is the odd size of the hardcover. It looks out of place on my bookshelf, fitting in more with my paperbacks than hardcovers. I think it is worth the read, and it isn't long. I'd be interested in feedback on Lightman's other books. I haven't tried anything else by him.
