Pop-up making me crazy

That 3 Musketeers Bar popup is making me crazy!! I have a popup blocker but it doesn't seem to catch this one for some reason. I can't move around the RP thread without this thing popping up every time I make a move. Aaaargh!

Ditto, Sarah. Whats strange is that is seems to be overriding my usual walls and blockers. I'll grant you, seeing mint dark chocolate is pleasing to the eye, but I don't need my appetite stimulated and all its doing is making me mad.

oldhousegal, I commend you. I'd love to be living that way - as they say "every journey begins with a single step". I found a website created by a grad student from Singapore who is studying "food perceptions" of all things. This entire website is dedicated to unraveling the "great pine nut mystery" (don't you love the internet!). Here is a picture of pine nuts. "S" is apparently what you want. "A" is what you don't want. Similar in size.. posting another pic below which is a close up of "A". close up on PNS (pine nut syndrome) inducing pine nut Funny... Target house brand of pine nuts has only had one reported case of PNS but Trader Joe's has had 69 cases.... maybe I'm not ready to give up on Target yet (maybe I am still being naive to believe everything I read on the internet.... looks pretty credible to me though - will link the website below). I really thought this was my answer as I was about to start throwing things but ITS NOT! My “middle” rod does not have the screw-in for a finial! Waaaah!!! So I have 2 larger rods, one which is supposed to be the middle rod, or at least the illustration on the box shows it as the middle rod, and the other has finial attached. The smaller rod fits into the middle rod and has finial attached at other end. Middle rod will not fit into other larger rod. The middle rod appears to be designed to expand or be made smaller on one end - not sure which - but I’ve tried both. Nothing works. I’m so frustrated.

I think it's pretty obvious where that's heading when adobe starts coming out with developer tools to let developers convert flash based content to HTML 5 instead. One thing, for many commercial sites with flash content (like big box stores or news sites) there's often an app you can download to use instead that gives you access to the same content. I don't care for this trend, since I'd rather access the whole internet via a browser, but this seems to be the way things are going with portable devices. I hate flash and I think it's used stupidly for no reason on about 85% of the sites that use it, but I agree it's vexing not to have it on iOS. breezy, if you see a thumbnail for that page, then it's cached and you'll keep seeing it. Try emptying the cache/history (in settings>safari) and see if that helps.

Mark, thank you, I hope....after going to the site you wrote about, I think I have opt outed of 96 companies that were advertising. 96! Hopefully this will continue to work...I did have to allow third party cookies, hope this doesn't open a new can of worms???? Thanks, I do not miss the killer rapper guy. Edited to say....NEVERMIND!!!! I'm still getting the ads. After checking out 3 threads and seeing zero ads, they were back on the fourth. After I posted this, I browsed the site and the pop up did not occur once. Mmmm - maybe a thread about it was the magic trick?(or did I just jinx it)

It's driving me crazy, too. The only way I want to see chocolate is up close and personal in my hot, sticky little hand.

I don't know if this will help, but when this forum first became garden Web, there were those moving popups which drove everyone crazy, and someone posted the thing below. My DH did it and I haven't had an ad here since.

Windows XP: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K: C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 98: C:\WINDOWS
Open the file in Notepad. Cut the following from this post and paste it to the end of the file.
127.0.0.1 amch.questionmarket.com
127.0.0.1 a820.g.akamai.net
127.0.0.1 iv.doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 i.ivillage.com
127.0.0.1 m.2mdn.net
127.0.0.1 tste.ivillage.com
127.0.0.1 img-cdn.mediaplex.com
127.0.0.1 ads.vmirror.com
127.0.0.1 cmhtml.ivillage.overture.com
127.0.0.1 ads.pointroll.com
Edit each entry so that there is a tab between the IP address 127.0.0.1 and the URLs. Save the file and you're finished. Close and re-open your browser and all the ads will be gone.

Further to astrokath's instructions:
Save the file as hosts
If you already have a "hosts" file, then add these entries to the end of that file. In windows98, you must reboot, since the hosts file is only read once on boot.
An alternative is to use the Firefox browser, which has a very good popup blocker.

Another vote for Firefox, as well as all the lovely little add-ons available for it (found here). Never see another ad--popups, banners, or any other.

I use Firefox also and it does a good job of blocking them. Best of all it remembers my passwords.
