yoyo. good to see you back. You will have to explain your thread 'cos it doesn't mean anything to me. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious. :-(

It's a puzzler.......

I believe someone out there knows the whereabouts !! :0)

Is this the book sent as a round robin mailer? I had it several weeks ago and forwarded it to the next person on the list, but I can't remember who that was. I do remember drawing the mailing arrow from my location to hers, but I can't even remember where that went. Alas, senioritis has taken root.

Thanks Carolyn !
It's heading east ...........:0)

I have it... Sorry! Will get a move on... :-)

It's in the mail to the next lucky recipient. :-)

What's this about? Have I missed something on RP? Please filll me in?

Sorry - don't mean to be pedantic - but, point of information, 'wherefore' actually means 'why', though it looks as if it ought to mean 'where'. When Juliet says 'wherefore art thou Romeo?' she is saying WHY are you a Montague and I a Capulet because, of course, the two families are sworn enemies.

I didn't know that!

This is a very common misunderstanding. Like the saying "The proof is in the pudding" which I have given up trying to correct when I hear it!

I laughed when I saw this as I recently corrected someone. She said, "Siobhan, Siobhan, wherefore art thou, Siobhan?" She had obviously been looking for me. I told her that she had just commented on my being named Siobhan, NOT asking where I have been. She looked at me like I had two heads!

I am going to claim that I created a wonderful new word blending WHERE + THEREFORE = Wherefore

Because.....I suspect that is exactly what I was saying! ;0)

Rules, schmules...break them with great enthusiasm !

Post from the bookmark book:

I am now in Northern Virginia, being carried back & forth on the commuter train. I'll let you know when I leave for Maryland....

Buon viaggio !

Bravo !!

The Bookmark Book:
Leaving Virginia today!!!

Don't you love a mystery !?

And where it goes...nobody knows :0)

OK - I DID know that "wherefore" means "why". (Hence the phrase "whys and wherefores"...)

But I also have no idea what the bookmark book is, or what this thread is all about....

It crossed the Potomac in only three days!

Tally Ho.... Off we go!

enjoy......:0)

Left Maryland yesterday ..... heading north.

Wonderful!

I admit that I hadn't read this thread all the way through because I had no idea what was going on.

Now it is obvious and I am thrilled to be "in the know".

Bookmark Book is currently filling up with chocolate, soon to be headed Northeast.

What a treat! Thank you!!
PAM

Yoohoo !?

Bookmark book filled up on chocolate and left for locales to the north last Saturday.

Sorry... started a new job. My life is crazy right now.

PAM

I am starting to worry ... I mailed this book out nine days ago. ANyone know where it is?

PAM

I have it!

And after months, probably close to a year, of not being able to sign on via my computer, and 3 months of having this iPad, I realized today that perhaps this would work, and it does.

I have so much catching up to do. I didn't have any idea what the bookmark book was all about when it arrived on my door step. Such was my frustration at not being able to speak with you all, that I had even stopped dropping by.

Hello, dear friends!

HURRAY !!!
It arrived..........enjoy yourself little book !

oh, and you too veronica !

The Washington Post's Arts section had an article where the author tracked down a postcard that fell out of a used book he had purchased. Anyone who enjoyed the Bookmark Book should enjoy this too!

Here is a link that might be useful: Washington Post 8/12: postcard in a book leads to surprise

What a wonderful story -- and what a small world we live in!

Siobhan should be very interested in this.

Wow!

The West Boothbay Harbor Post Office is exactly the same as it was in 1945.

How is out little book traveler doing?

I sent it off to upper NY at the beginning of August.

Any news of its current location?

Talk to us, little book !!

YOOOO HOOOO !

The bookmark book is safe and sound in Connecticut. What a neat idea and what a nice surprise. It will soon be heading just a smidge further south ....

Hurray! That which iwas lost was found.

Yesterday my son and I were going through a box of very old books (one was a100+ year old complete Robert Browning). We found a dried four leaf clover in one book that was 94 years old! Nothing so exciting when I was looking for a neat thing to pass on, at least in anecdote, when I had the book.

I must apologize yoyobon as it took me a while to send the book on. I see it arrived, whew. I know I was remiss due to extenuating circumstances. I enjoyed it very much-thanks for including me!

It can spend as much time as it wants !

That's the beauty of surprises.....they come unexpectedly and leave when they've had enough of us ( sort of like in-laws !)

How is the adventure going ?

I've sent it on its way ....

October 1......any news of it's travels?

Oh where , Oh where did the bookmark book go???

Have we lost the book along the way?????

I hope it's not lost! I did send it Media Mail though ... the US postal service equivalent of Slow Boat to China. However, it was only going about 30 miles and within the same state!

Perhaps it will surface soon.

Do you recall about when you sent it out?

After all this traveling , I hope it didn't go astray !!
