I can identify with that poem. My grandfather delivered milk via horse and cart in Oslo, Norway in the old days. Rain, shine and snow, the two of them would be out there doing their job(s). The horse knew the route by heart. My grandfather would climb on, give the horse a go ahead and it would stop at every stop. When a shop would close and a delivery was not needed, the horse would stop and look back at my grandfather, and would not budge until my grandfather rattled the milk bottles, pretended to deliver the bottles. It took weeks to train the horse not to stop at closed shops. Even so, the horse would look back as if to say "are your sure". It did not add miles but time. Time is precious.

I'm not missing it much but I have this sense of doom about a false spring. We've had lots of sun, comparatively speaking, during the last month - usually it's not in much abundance. And you're right about the interior temps - they haven't varied much. Additionally, since we're in the lee of a hill, and the neighbors across the street cut some trees down last year, we're getting more sun earlier than we had before. Very similar to Craigslist but local to your area. I didn't know there were services, I was browsing the general for sale items. I have never tried any of them, there's a LOT of them I keep seeing them on TV ads. Like the let go app. Ilike nextdoor for finding out things happening in the neighborhood. Today someone posted about dog napping! Some guy in a pick up truck with dog crates in the back stealing dogs out of backyards. A few days ago there was a post about breaking in to cars at night. It is great for lost pets. I was hesitant about it at first but it has been beneficial especially with the flood situation.
