Finding Ebenezer Le Page

The audio version, that is. I really want to listen to this book and want the CDs so I can listen to it more that once. I have the book and have read how good the audio version is, BUT I CANNOT FIND IT!!!

There are places I've found on the internet where I can download it, but I really want the actual CDs in my hand. Does anyone have an idea for a source? If I download it from a place on the net, can I easily burn the CDs from my computer? I've never done that before. I found it on itunes but, again, am not sure I would be able to make hard copies. Any ideas and help would be muchly appreciated.

Nora, I thought this would be easy . . but it wasn't.

I tried typing in CD 'The Book of Ebenezer le Page' and came up with the site below, everything else was 'audio download'.
There was one other similar UK site. Could find nothing US based.

I thought it would be easy too! I have contacted the people in the UK to make sure their cds read on our players. I know there is a problem with some stuff and am hoping the cds will work. Thanks so much.

Ann, I wanted to tell you I just received my books. I bought the Little Book of Old Roses and the Heritage of Roses by LeRougetel. I love both. The Little Book of Old roses has the loveliest illustrations. They remind me of Redoute prints (which I am collecting). But I absolutely love The Heritage of Roses. The one I received (from Thriftbooks thru Amazon) is an old Library book and is in excellent condition. The plastic sleeve over the dust cover was a bit worn, so I took it off and replaced it with a new one, and the book looks brand new! I love the history of the roses and the prints. Thank you so much for recommending these books. And now I am on a used book tear......

The All Clad "D5" series is optimized for induction and now has a curved pouring lip on the edge. Supposedly there is an extra middle layer of magnetic stainless. That might help on the bottom, but once you go up the sides and out of the magnetic field? There the aluminum helps, especially on slanted or curved sides of medium and shallow pans. Still, for large stockpots I think that All Clad is overkill, and would suggest the IKEA 365+ that David had good luck with.. Yes - to those who asked if I meant to say "broiler" rather than grill, for finishing salmon fillet cooked in a Le Creuset grill pan but seared on the cooktop first. I have never worried about the temperature restriction for this pan, since our oven is a convection oven and I believe the broiler get to about 450 and that's all. I also don't put it on the top shelf, but use the 2nd one. Naturally, we like it cooked well, as all salmon should be. So for a 6-8 oz fillet - depending on thickness - I pre-heat the grill pan on the cooktop (set at 5, which gets it really hot) for 4 minutes; spray with Pam; put in the fillets and sear 1.5-2 min per side (so it is only turned over once), then put in oven under preheated broiler for another 3-4 minutes. When done, I put on pre-heated plates in the bottom oven (set at 200 and used as a warming drawer) to rest until everything else is ready to eat. PS: prior to searing, I always skin the fillets.

First, I must say thank you to all who share their knowledge! I have learned so much...maybe too much.:) I too am in a quandary about appliances... researching my life away! I value your experience! Essentially everything we eat is made from scratch. My husband and I both enjoy cooking- he makes magic with a wok and anything in the fridge! I love to entertain and serve elegant meals that I know our guests would never put the effort into or enjoy making. My Italian heritage also requires that I make lots of comfort food-eg. BIG pots of "gravy", risotto etc! I can't imagine cooking with out the availability of "simmer". I host 5+ course sit down holiday dinners for 5-15 people. With that in mind, here's my situation: For a whole house remodel, I am deciding between a CC or BS range top. Probably 36" due to space issues. Either 6 burners or 4 w/grill. Here are my questions: 1. Love the CC but am concerned about having only 22K BTUs and the simmer reviews. 2. Love the BS but had ruled it out due to service issues. I am a rural 2 hrs drive from Reading PA. and initially thought BS proximity might be a plus. Just put them back in the running since I read their service has improved. Really? 3.A bit of a clean freak, I vowed never to have a hood but have decided to deal with it in order to have the CC or BS range top. I read another thread to learn about cleaning a baffled hood like a Modern Aire. OK- I can do it - when I'm not cooking I'm cleaning so what the heck? BUT: With heavy cooking, how often must they be taken apart to clean the fan and degrease? Does the SS lining discolor after a year or more, or turn that "cooked grease brown" (like what happens on sealed burners). My 10 yr old Viking cooktop looks terrific but it takes time and elbow grease (especially post a DH cooking extravaganza!)I am wondering how painful it will be to keep it up to my standards.(sparkling clean and no odor) How does one keep the grill clean and free of gunk and greasy odor? Thanks in advance for your advice and for helping me set reasonable expectations. I am so afraid of making a very expensive mistake!

DVDs won't work unless you buy a special "regionless" player. It's done deliberately to control the release of movies from country to country.

I don't know about CDs.

I emailed the seller and they say a cd is a cd so I'm golden. Thank's a million for the lead. Ebenezer will be coming to live with me and I'm a happy camper.

This is one of my all time favorite audiobooks. I hate the limitations of using cds. I use audible.com and a small mp3 player (Sansa). I can listen where ever I go (yard, walking, cooking, etc) and can listen to the story as often as I want. It is the most wonderful narration ever. When I first finished it, I immediately listened to it a second time. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My plan is to go from the cd to my ipod. I've had too many computer failures to completely trust electronics, so I want the cd so I can download it again if my ipod fails (or gets lost). I listen to books in the car and sometimes find myself just driving aimlessly to extend my driving and listening time.

Do you get many books from Audible.com? Is it easy to do? I tend to want to stick to the familiar -- like physical cds!

I have a subscription to Audible for one book a month. However, they have sales very often and that is when I get most of my books. What I like about it is that the books I buy are always on my Library at the website, so I can reread them any time I want. I have used different mp3 players over the years, but Sansa seems the best for audiobooks right now. I love that I can listen anywhere I go. I don't have to be in the car.
It has been a pretty easy process for me to use the website and the mp3 players. I would be glad to answer any other questions you have.

Kathy, thanks for the offer. I know people listen to books while they do other things, but I'm too easily distracted and would have to go backwards to catch something I've missed. I didn't know that once you get a book from Audible it stayed available on their website. That's definitely something to look into. Also thanks for telling me how good this particular book is. My sister-in-law got me to read it, now I'm looking forward to listening to someone else reading it to me.

There is a lady who manages Roy Dotrice fan club. she has sent me cassette tapes of this recording. I typed in Roy Doric. and traced her that way. It cost £20. Hope this helps.

My guess is that it is not available on a cd as an audio book.
