William Landay's writing.

No one responded to my specific question regarding "Defending Jacob" and I now have a different, more general question about Landay's writing. I realized I read "Mission Flats" quite a while ago when I was searching for a critique of "Defending Jacob" and learned that Landay had written both books, as well as "The Strangler." I just finished reading "The Strangler" and now I would like to know if anyone else has read two or more of these books. I can't believe all three were written by the same author. I can hardly recall "Mission Flats" and had to reread portions of it to refresh my memory. I thought "Defending Jacob" was really interesting and well written but "Mission Flats" is mediocre in my opinion, and I probably wouldn't have completed "The Strangler" except for the fact that I had become interested in Landay's development as an author. I am interested in other people's evaluation of the three books and the evolution of Landay's style. The three books have rather different writing styles, and all three styles irritated me in varying degrees. Of the three, I believe "Defending Jacob" is Landay's best effort but it has annoying flaws in the way the story line flows. I hope there are forum members who have read all three books and will share their evaluations.
