I really enjoyed this.

I think it would be quite interesting to do this experiment in different places with different cultures. For example, here in TX, people are (generally speaking) happy to hug when you first meet them, and now I am used to it, it's fine.

But I am curious how such an experiment would go in a place where the culture is very not touchy-feely. For example, my town in England or even London.. (or NYC for that matter.)

If the people offering the free hugs had obviously good intentions, I would give them a hug, but not if they looked creepy or something...

Or would the creepy people need the hugs more?

I thought this was beautiful and wonderful, even the background music. I spent a lot of time traveling in Italy and found they are a very warm and demonstrative culture.

Thanks YoYoBon for that link! It was fun to watch the "hugs" in different cultures. The Italian version is still my favourite of all. The huggers attracted people of all ages, all ethnic groups, both sexes. In New York, London, and the other cities I watched, it seemed to be mostly young males, and a few young females. BTW -- the Londoners seemed the most reluctant huggers.

BTW -- Lemonhead, didn't you see -- after the end of the Italian version -- there are squares w/ various countries listed ... one is Texas. All you do is click on the square.
