Parsnip variety for milder winters

Hi all

Does anyone have a suggestion of any parsnip variety that would give good flavour even in a frost-free winter? I will be back in south-west Ireland in March and am working on what veggies to grow; I wish I could remember what parsnips we grew last year but although they were a good size and not too woody, they had very little flavour. I think that maybe parsnips are one of thoese veg that need a good frosting to bring out the flavour, but maybe I'm wrong there! But the west of Ireland does hardly have any frost, at least where I live.

Any ideas welcomed!

Cheers

claire
