This wildflower with about a 2' flower stalk was found in the Central Texas Hill Country (back in February). (I uprooted it only because the area was going to be scraped clear, anyways.) What is it?

I stand corrected. Have a ton of blue curls and was shooting from the hip on the foliage. Yes, its been a great spring and my native gardens are doing great, although they are in recovery mode from a deer grazing. They left no plant untouched except the bee balm. Just got back from the NE Ga mts. Yes, there is a large patch of Frasera on my plot. Will be back up and get some pics. In my younger days I tromped all over those mountains and recall the hilltop pools. Was more into fishing and timber than looking at plants. But if I ever get back to one I will be on the look for Isoetes.

@Marie Tulin - My "meadow" was an existing feature of a house we bought at the end of April, so I don't know it's history other than what I can suss out from observation. Soil is not fertile and probably received almost no maintenance for many years as the house was rented by non-gardeners, or casual gardeners at most. I do know how to key out plants, but my main goal of posting here is to stimulate conversation, connect with other avid gardeners and generally engage with people over something positive. My hope is that time spent here is time not spent doomscrolling, by me or by others. Learning which species are growing in my garden from fellow plant nerds is way more interesting and rewarding, hopefully for all involved, than sitting down with a key. I also prefer actual gardening to talking about gardening online;-) so that's where I spend most of my time.

The next time I run into H. perforatum I plan on examining it more closely. I got 2 plants from a nursery that were supposed to be Hypericum kalmianum. Other botanists told me it wasn't kalmianum. It was one of 2 species, and the seed capsules would prove which species. I never got around to checking. I have since grown some Hypericum kalmianum from seed and I also grow H. prolificum.
