Thank you for your help saltcedar! Yes, that's exactly what is wrong with it.....I gave it a good soaking when I brought it home. carrieb...I do have it in the shade of our arbor. I googled it and read on how to take care of it. So, hopefully the roots haven't rotted too much. Another thing, we'd had lots of rain and it was in an area where it would have gotten more water on it. I sure wish I would have know what this plant was and how to take care of it because it was a very beautiful plant. Thanks again for all your help.

Ken, that's exactly what Corokia cotoneaster looks like! It's common name is wire netting shrub, so that should also give you another clue :-) As to it's appeal, it is a great container plant in appropriate climates - think of it as an evergreen, fragrant flowered, scaled down Harry Lauder's walking stick. The contorted, twisted dark stems and tiny, silvery gray leaves just make for a rather unique plant. Much like bronze sedge, it's a plant that often looks a bit more dead than alive.

Lunaria, commonly called Silver Dollar Plant? Never grew it myself, but those seed pods certainly look like it.

Please can you tell us where this is growing geographically? Is is an indoor or outdoor plant? Is it aromatic? It could almost be etiolated thyme.
