Did you read it? I struggled with the characters from the start, I just couldn't believe in them. The sexuality of the narrator is a cliche straight out of Will and Grace. The other people try too hard to be weird. I just got to the chapter called "The Joy of Sex" and my tolerance came to a full stop. I have too many books to read to indulge this crap.

Only my second time ever to look into this book site. Yours was right on top and so I read it and I agree with you. Its nice to read something different but I thought it was sneaking trash at me. I took mine back to Barnes and Noble and told them I did not read that crap as you say.....They gave me a gift card..no problem. I will look through the forum, but have you read Glass Castle?

I dislike reading this sort of memoir-I feel as if I am prying into a life I have no business looking at...no matter that they have been published for profit-I feel as if someone's diary has been left out, open.

Sorry, y'all...was watching Dancing With The Stars and can't do ANYTHING until it's over. The penstemon I gave you (I think it's called Gulf Coast Blue) is not fussy over sun or shade, but probably not deep shade. Mine are in full sun in one bed and half day in another one. The reason I said give it lots of room is because it seeds like crazy, AND it spreads underground, too. It is not a plant for a small garden. But if you have a large area where you want loads of gorgeous color that reminds you of a cross between a snapdragon and a foxglove, this is your plant. Felix, out along your fence where you have lots of open space would be ideal. It is truly beautiful, and you can reduce the amount of it spreading by cutting the spent blooms before they seed, but that won't keep it totally contained. It's not for everyone, but I love it. Other items as well, ask. What do I want? Well, right now I am redoing the back (or preparing to) and I want to do it in galvanized washtubs. So anybody with old leaky (or bottomless) washtubs or washtub like items (heck anything galvanized) is welcome to run with scissors in my yard. There is no point in putting this on Garden Exchange, mailing a washtub is absurd, but I figure some of you must have some in the shed. Old oyster baskets are great too. Thanks folks.

Great idea! I like Runs with Scissors a lot and also Plays with Tension. As for Dances with Wools, I never use wool so it is not very representative of me, but still cute. Maybe Dances with Thread as a suggestion for those who don't quilt using wool? I'll see if any ideas pop into my head. I just got back from helping with my triplet grandsons for 2 weeks. They are now almost 6 months old. The overnight flight home got me even more tired. I slept about half of the day once I got home. The babies sure are cute though.
