Lebanese Mint

Recently, an Arabic-speaking accquaintance accompanied me to Edgware Road and I bought some mint (possibly Lebanese) in the Maroush deli. It smelled absolutely gorgeous and I got a huge bunch for 80-something pence.

On my kitchen windowsill, some of it has sprouted new teeny leaves and roots. I'd like to add it to my mint bed, but how ? Do I need to ensure the roots are a certain length ? Do I need to pot it on and if so which compost/soil is best ?

Any advice would be great thank you :)
