I agree with the above. Plus the fact that too much personal information gets divulged or can be mined by joining facebook. I'd rather limit my online participation to forums like GW and other, less inclusive, less wide open sites. I've been a member here for a long time....going on a couple of decades......and I have seen the same ebb and flow of visitor traffic through the seasons as we are now witnessing. January, February, March are always as slow as molasses but it will pick up when the gardening season comes into to full force in the next 6-8 weeks. And I have to say that the comments about excessive ads and pop-ups surprises me. I don't experience hardly any at all and just use Explorer with the standard firewalls. Didn't realize this was much of a problem anymore regardless of the Internet server one used...... I have to be honest when I say I read more than post. Most of the topics don't hold a great deal of interest for me and I tend only to respond to questions that get neglected or overlooked or when erroneous info is provided. Since conifers are not my area of concentrated expertise, I let others respond first - there is an amazing knowledge base here :-) But I still remain pretty active in some other forums. I also live in an area where the Internet is not widely available so I am not online at home. And since my work life is pretty seasonal and therefore computer access the same, I tend not to post much in winter anyway.

No, anney, I hadn't seen that but it's not news as I got the same information directly from Vilmorin. I've gotten as many of the OP strains as I can and have tried a couple but they just don't measure up. Going back to the Lemon Boy, I think it certainly could happen there too but no one will tell us until afterwards. My suspicion is that may be what's going on. Burpee sent me seeds that did not germinate - probably too old. Totally Tomatoes has it listed on their site with a nice picture but has a note that it is "unavailable". A few others still have some. This is why I asked my second question in an effort to learn more about de-hybridizing. There is lots of discussion around but I can find little real information unless it is along the lines of saving several generations of seed. In the case of Dona, that hasn't worked. Somewhere I saw something about a method that involved some back-crossing but I can't find it now. I don't expect to recapture all the genetic background but a little effort could yield something acceptable.

Is this normal or did i just starve them in the first part of the season? Possibly a bit of both. Many determinate varieties, weather and provided growing conditions permitting, will produce a small second crop. The quality and amount of that late crop varies greatly and in many zones there isn't enough time for them to ripen. So many prefer to replace the plants with fresh ones after the first crop. But if you have the room to let them go and can keep them alive and healthy that small late crop is better than nothing. Dave

F&P toploaders have ATC for ALL temperatures (they have five water temps), and the machine will beep an error if it doesn't sense a hot water flow coming in. It'll keep filling far as I know, but the beeping would be irritating. MomOf3Boys -- options for you in handling the dirtier loads: use the Perm Press workaround (it's not difficult to do), increase wash time to maximum, add the soak option, and there's also the Heavy cycle for stronger agitation. You could also stop and restart the cycle to repeat the wash agitation phase (it won't repeat the EcoActive wash if the tub is already filled). Of course some of these are manual workaround that require attention/interaction, which you may not have time to deal with it. If you're still interested in F&P, consider trading up to the IWL16 Intuitive Eco model. It has a lot more cycle options, including a separate setting to do a traditional deep-fill wash at the selected temperature (does NOT require the Perm Press workaround). Depends on what is the price difference compared to your alternate choice of a Frigidaire FL.
