My new Skippy Filter

dfinn

Hi,

Ive recently built my new Skippy filter. I'm using it to house my fish temporarily as we are hopefully soon moving house so the fish need a temporary home at our new house.

Anyway I estimated the filter cost me about £25 and was really easily to construct.

The media is a loads of scouring pads (about 40 in there so far I think), Plastic bio material from my old filter used to seed the skippy with benificial bacteria and old coarse filter foam.

The layout is like a conventional skippy filter but I fitted an air hose on the filter inlet allowing me to connect an air pump to provide oxygen to the water.

Heres the skippy working

Also heres the plastic bin im using to house my fish. If the skippy works well i may convert this bin into a skippy for a new pond.

Its been running for about three full days now and so far ive seen little change but I didnt expect any change for a few weeks.

I Apologise for the large pictures.

All comments and criticism welcome.

Thanks,

Daniel
