Is my Citrus tree is dead? Please HELP
Comments (5)Hi Mah..Wow, your poor tree. Have you sprayed chemical (insecticide or fertilizer) on the leaves? or perhaps overfertilized? The next question regards pests,. Notice any creepy-crawlers on leaves or branches? Before leaves browned, were they discolored yellow or mottled? How long have you had the tree? Is it new, recently planted? How often do you water? I'm assuming you peeled bark, and found green instead of brown/dead inner bark, right? If it's green, then your tree is alive. I normally don't suggest pruning, but in your case, I'd do some drastic pruning. Toni...See MoreHelp! Is my maple tree dead?
Comments (4)Hi gardengal48, thanks for the reply. The wet bark is because I'd just sprayed it with the hose while watering our herb garden a few minutes before I took the photos. When the trees were planted in May 2013 they were brought burlapped ... and that was removed when they put it in the hole. They amended the soil with Mycorrhizal fungi which you can kind of see in this photo: I think it was probably this stuff. Keep in mind that was all 4 years ago. The tree seemed to establish easily and well, and grew beautifully. By last September (2016) it looked great: And it continued that way through October 2016 when it dropped all its leaves: But this Spring was a different story. The other maple that was planted at the same time leafed out nicely, and this one did not. Something definitely must've happened over the winter. Sorry I don't have a better photo of the trunk at the moment ... Thanks again for any thoughts you might have about cause, and potentially saving the tree....See MoreHelp!! Is my tree dead?

Comments (13)It's strange that it didn't collapse earlier. Is there a chance it got hit by lightning? I lost 6 tall coconuts to a single lightning strike. They were at least 2 to 3 times the height of your palm. The tops were "jellied" and took a while to fall. Some other shorter plants jellied and collapsed much sooner....See Morepineresin
