It may just be the shock of being moved that has caused your plant to droop. If so, the recent rain should help it recover. If you put a lot of fertiliser in the planting hole, the roots might have got burnt. It's unlikely that an ordinary insecticide would kill such a popular plant, although using too many chemicals could be bad for you - the one you used is carcinogenic!

It's also a good idea to identify the pest before you reach for the spray. Some sprays work on contact only, so you need to see the pest and spray that rather than give an innocent plant a dose of something that might be unnecessary.

I would suspect the fertilizer, not the bug spray. Many plants find this too concentrated. Sprinkle dried blood near the roots of pansies and they will all drop dead.

I agree with Crazylady - I think you have burnt it's roots.

As i said the poker was planted 7-10 days ago & it was only just coming out when put in the ground, i put a handfull of dried blood, bone & fishmeal mixed with some compost turned into the ground prior to planting & after planting it really took, it became very erect & had a wonderful poker about 5" long & very healthy looking, it was sprayed about 8.30pm & by the following morning 7am it had gone floppy & unable to support itself, it just seems strange it was so healty & upright until i used the bug spray, hence my reason for thinking that it was the bug-free that had caused it?

This is not a reaction I would expect to the Bug Free. If that's what caused it I would be very surprised. Sounds much more like the plant just ran short on water.
