My goldfish aren't dying. I lost two over the past year, one who was probably taken by a predator in the outdoor pool, and another who jumped out of the bucket while I was transferring them to their winter home in the cellar (and I foolishly did not cover the bucket.) My fish are very healthy and I want to keep them that way by not introducing new fish who might be incubating a disease directly into their environment. My only question is how long the new fish should be kept quarantined. Two weeks? Longer?

I'm starting to see some judging of others' opinions and experiences ... Everyone is different. Some are paralyzed by the crisis and some spring up to make lemonade out of the lemons they are dealt, and others are somewhere in the middle. I have a high school senior too, but using the examples mentioned above, I don't see it the same, because I went to a school system overseas that had none of the graduation traditions that you have here in the US. There were no proms or big graduation ceremonies. You took your exams, school ended and you went onto the next steps in life. I also hear stories from many Americans that didn't go to prom and didn't particularly like their high school experience due to not being in the IN crowd. So maybe it shouldn't be such a big event? The school visits are great too, but I accepted and attended a graduate school without ever stepping foot in that State before, and that was before the internet and video tours existed. I feel bad my teen will miss out on some of these traditions, but I don't fell sorry for him. I see these as experiences that will help him grow and be more flexible when other crisis come his way during his lifetime. We've all had different experiences and handle adversity in different ways. Some curl up in a corner, some will tell you to pull yourself up from your bootstraps and the rest are somewhere in between. None of the reactions are better than the other, just different for different individuals. Maybe we don't understand that reaction, but unless you know exactly what that person has been through, I don't see how you can judge them ...

“Otherwise it will be "yoga pants" and sweatshirts every day. How many weeks do they say it takes to make a habit?” Three weeks... 21 days... ask me how I know 😎 Yesterday DH and I went to a drive through birthday party. Good friend whose son turned 21 set up their circular drive as a hilarious party. Never getting out of your car you could honk as you entered, give a virtual hug to the birthday boy and hand over your gift (note with bespoke limerick written by me containing a check and a bottle of champagne wearing a new masculine fabric face mask) where they went into quarantine for a week, get a piece of coconut bday cake in disposable cups with plastic spoons, and at the last station get cherry Jell-O shots made with vodka, contsining a maraschino cherry filled with fireball whiskey. There were also shots labeled “unleaded” for the drivers, they had been made in those little short, clear plastic cups with tops that you get ketchup in. Drive in, drive on.... 45 seconds and a good time was had by all. They kept the “party” open for an hour between 7 and 8 pm. It was a blast! Gosh I digress in a big way, my point was that this was the first time in ages we had seen other people except walkers in our own community. We dressed casually but nicely and I completely forgot to put on my watch, earrings or any other jewelry! It did not even occur to me ....I committed a crime against accessories 😥

Pamhatten, great bath makeover, I am impressed! Tannatonk, I love orange with gray and white. A cute orange chair and a few pillows would be great accents for your new guest/study. One of our extra bedrooms is also functioning as my study, with a desk and my laptop. I am using it far more than my dedicated study in the old house, go figure. Fully2, although I find the wrought iron porch rails with the scrolls very nostalgically appealing, those new, straight sided porch railings are a very smart look and will update your house the Minute they are up. Jojoco, love your new dollhouse project. That pink house looks like it was plucked from the south of France. Jterrilyn, very sorry to hear you contracted Cv19 but glad your symptoms are mild. I know you and your DH have been very careful, and this confirms what I have suspected all along that it is much easier to get than we realize. Hhireno, I am also keeping Freezer and fridge lists. A dry erase board is perfect for that, thank you for the idea! Great job Ida on your weight loss! DH and I have both put on a few and have been discussing very seriously what we can do about it without changing what we are doing now. Obviously we have a ways to go.... Our bathroom project is in full swing. Tub/shower demo-Ed Monday, new toilet and vanity going in today and possibly wallpaper. I now realize it was a mistake not to replace the tile floor, but it was in good condition and I didn’t think (at the time) that it looked awful. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being totally unacceptable and 10 being the platonic ideal of a tile floor, I would give it a 4. 😢. OTOH I have never actually used that bathroom and have only been in it twice so I have Made Up My Mind not to complain.
