Mas, I love my two Love Song roses (not Posiedon--haha), one grown since it first came on the market, and three Ebb Tide bushes, two since 2006. None were ordered from Edmunds. I can't figure what the deal is with them. Our state, Idaho, does not allow Edmunds roses into the state, so I haven't been able to order from them since I ordered a Twilight Zone, some years back. It's an excellent rose for me. I wonder if Edmunds is in an area of lots of rose rosette disease. There is some agricultural reason for banning them, I'm sure. Do any of you have this same problem? I have Golden Celebration and Lemon Spice in zone 9b S. California at 2000ft. I am inland about 30 miles, but can see the ocean from my balcony if the Santa Ana winds blow the smog out to sea, so it’s basically a straight shot for the nighttime marine layer to come in. This moist cool air in a climate with no rain is what powdery mildew loves the most. The PM pressure here is very high. Golden Celebration has perfect healthy foliage on a nice rounded shrub with leaves to the ground, but tends to only have a Spring and Fall flush. Lemon Spice blooms pretty much year round, but gets just a touch of powdery mildew. Lemon Spice has the exact same growth habit as Mr. Lincoln with tall straight upright growth and bare naked legs that are very low thorn. Both LS and GC have a divine and strong fragrance. Lemon spice smells like cloves and cinnamon. GC smells like lemon and myrrh with a little old rose thrown in. Both roses have thinner petals that wilt in triple digit heat.

I agree that knowing the part of the country you're in will help us advise you. The low thorn item is the trickiest part as most of the "thornless" roses I can think of are either pinkish or white, or not hardy to our zone 5. For yellows, I've had good luck with Lunar Mist. It can die to the ground some years but in the past several years has had reasonably good surviving cane. If Teasing Georgia didn't survive for you thought anything we list might be tricky, as that one is rated to zone 4 and performs that way for me. It's possible TG would be more hardy after a year protected to grow better roots. It's a little early to endorse this yellow, but Sunshine Sally has small blooms but has so far been tip hardy over the last winter. Same with Golden Opportunity. A reliably tip hardy apricot climber is Polka, with big fat fully double blooms. It has good sized thorns but they're spaced enough that they're relatively easy to avoid. There are some options that are coral pink like Rosarium Ueterson or Lady Ashe, but to my eye they look more pink than coral. Cynthia
