Goldfish dying

I added 8 goldfish about 10cm long to my pond about 4 weeks ago. They have all died, not in one go, but over the last 2 weeks.

Thinking that there must be something wrong with water quality I have just checked pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. The pH was a fraction high and all else was well within spec, in fact overall the test indicate pretty good water quality.

The pond is biologically filtered and has a UV clarifier. I'm stumped. The goldfish stock came from a fish farm and was raised in fish 'trays' indoors. I am wondering whether taking the fish from this environment straight to an outside pond might be the trouble. Maybe I should try introducing a couple of outside-reared goldfish?

Any advice welcome.

Alex
