Automatic water timers

Do any of you have experience in using automatic timers in your garden ?? I am intending to setup dripper system to water numerous pots of hostas and hyrangeas (15- 40lt pot sizes). There are at least five different manufacturers each making at least two models of timer, hence I have quite a choice !! Should I go for the basic no frills versions at about £25 or the all singing and dancing digitals at £40-£50 ??

I notice the 'brand leader' (begins in H with a Z in the middle ends in K !) has 4 models, however I find this company's other products rather overpriced and little better than hose fittings from pound shops; so I doubt if I will buy theirs. (hate that awful orange/yellow plastic that they use too !! )

I'm grateful for any information you may have .

Many thanks LKL
