Hi rebelash: Mine are grafted onto G. robusta root stock. I made enquiries about it at Neilsons Natives Nursery, 51 Beenleigh Redlands Bay Road, Loganholm, South-East Qld. 07 3806 1313. They didn't have it in stock but they were able to order it in. Took a couple of months if my memory serves me right. It's a groundcover variety and where I am (near Tweed Heads) it's doing fine, been in now about 18 months. The above is one of last season's flowers. Mind you, it is not spectacular, but certainly unusual. Gees time flys! I see above I posted that message in July 15, so, bit over 2 years now.

For a start I'd make sure the wood chips are away from the base of the trunk on both plants. Also, what sort of wood chips are they? Not sure but they could be your problem. By the way, I copied this from a comment on the plant: 'In order to maintain a healthy garden plant, the conditions must be suitable for propagation. G. rhyolitica requires a well-drained garden bed, with coarse, slightly acidic soil. Borers and scale insects are common pests to grevilleas and can cause considerable damage, leading to death if left unchecked. A minor effect of scale infestation is the growth of black sooty mould. This looks unsightly but is relatively harmless. In some regions of Australia Phytopthera and other diseases threaten both wild and cultivated populations. Most pests can be treated with commercial pesticides'.

Not a good time of the day for photos, stuff is in either harsh light or shade. Grevillea "read" in the landscape as shrubby, so architectural plants like Agaves and Aloes and other succulents are good companions. Aloe flowers are in the same sunset (yellow orange pinky red) colors as Grevilleas, so that is a plus when both are in flower. Grevillea 'Moonlight' to the right of Aloe 'Hercules' and various Aloes & Agaves below. Feathery foliage of 'Ned Kelly' contrast with Agave and Aeonium Above is 'Robyn Gordon' with Salvia clevelandii, Limonium perezii, Hummannia fumariifolia, Leonotis, and an Aloe. Also have them planted with Leucospermum, Leucandendron, Protea, Maireana, Leucophyllum, various drier-climate Salvias, that sort of thing. They can get chlorotic in their first winter, so plant with a handful of soil sulfur.
