Janey, I don't know of any silvery Aussie natives that might be acceptable to pleaching, however, the plant that comes to my mind that might be worth a try is a variegated pittosporum. It has leaves similar to Acmena or Syzygium (excuse spelling), which grows to about the size your looking for, 2.5 to 3 metres. I haven't grown it for some years but it should still be available from large nurseries.

I have tracked down the book...went to one large bookshop, they said they could order it in, but it would cost an extra $11 !!!! I was rather annoyed about that, dont they want to keep their customers happy. I said I would have a look on the internet. Found www.abebooks.com, very helpful. Found a second hand version of the book, with postage, only costing me $20, delivered to my door. So, I hope this helps others in their search for books. Now, I am excited about getting the book in the mail, hope it turns up today ! Popi

Ok, the neighbours remember planting it but don't have a clue what it is. The picture is an image I had on file, a bit close. It doesn't appear to be the same plant in any case. I did read (can't remember where) - that Grevillea fililoba can have flowers ranging from pink to red. Sorry can't back it up though. If my grevillea isn't the same as the previous - does anyone know what it is?

hi justcorreas i love correas and have grown a number from cuttings. my main reason for contacting you is that you seem to be one of the more "active" members of gardenweb. sometimes i wonder if there is anyone out there. Where are you? How can we generate interest?My current interest is coping with the drought - succulents, natives etc. inner city Melbourne, but my heart is in the Country, so I pretend. Are there any other OZ members out there who are interested? BTW does everyone else have trouble with a very slow connection? I have Broadband, but on this site I need to reduce my typing speed or it misses.
