Ingrid, if you'd like to see some more languorous roses, just google "Catherine (or Catharina) Klein, roses". LOTS of postcards will pop up. For another rosy treat you can google "Paul de Longpre". I have a couple of de Longpre prints, but they are considerably more rare and expensive than my Klein postcards; he was very, very picky about where and how his images were published. De Longpre moved here from France around 1900 and lived and worked in Hollywood for several years, where he built a mansion surrounded by rose gardens. His original works commanded thousands of dollars during his lifetime. Unfortunately he considered postcard illustration to be beneath him, lol. Even more unfortunately, his home and gardens were razed after his death. There ARE lots of surviving photos of his home. It was quite the tourist draw in its day.
