Do you mean Melaleuca alternifolia? I've got a few little ones of that. I wonder how well they would travel this time of year? I've never been sent in the mail, so I can only guess that it may be too chilly for melaleuca, or maybe for other things like say...hmm...an olive tree. What do you think?

New Zealand Tea Tree? Is that the same thing as Melaleuca? If it is, it's considered an invasive tree in Florida, at least in south Florida. I may be wrong and this could be a totally different tree. Was there a botanical name attached? Kate

What part of central Florida ??? Southern live oaks are great trees but vastly overused and too often are planted in a wrong location. Yeah, It's a sales pitch. I used to belong to Melaleuca. What they don't tell you is that the detergent does nothing by itself. You have to use their pretreater and color safe bleach to get out stains. Another thing they do not tell people is that their detergents are not 100% green. They have a small amount of petroleum in them. They also use to try to sell the stuff versus Tide Powder as the Tide Powder isn't pH balanced and their stuff is, but they failed to mention that the Tide liquid was pH balanced too. (They do now, if you happen to wander to the right page and read it on your own.) I did some checking at their website to see how they were marketing it now and they are still leaving out vital information in their sales pitch. They keep talking about how it removes catalina dressing, but they don't tell you you have to use the pretreater and the colorsafe bleach to do it. Then they try to hook you on how it will save you money, but since most people who use Tide do not need a seperate pretreater the Mela Power coupled with their prespot and mela brite actually ends up costing you more. It's a big con pyramind skeme. I'm still wondering when a consumer affairs group is going to go after them.
