Tea Tree Oil question

Having learned about this anticeptic oil here at the KT...I bought some at my health food store today. I've had a problem with my large toe for many years which is complicated by gout. I seem to have found a remedy for the gout by eating cherries...in one form or another. Now I'm tackling the skin [perhaps infection] problem...and I have a question for your wonderful people who use this oil.

Is it acceptable to cover the application area with a bandage or similar covering? I don't want to diminish the curative effects of the oil by having it soaked up by a covering but it's still a bit too chilly in my neck of the woods to be wandering in my bare feet.

Your advice will be sincerely appreciated.

Anne
