Thanks, hortist. I think you might have miss read. Both locations are getting close to the same amount of light. the south side doesn't get any morning sun until around 11am and then they get it the rest of the day. the north side gets morning sun until 10am, then are in shade until around 1pm and then are in sun the rest of the day. its just not the height of the plants. But the south side plants look like I've just transplanted them. But the north side are bushier as well. More leaves, thicker stems and more branches. Both locations were planted at the same time. I'll see if I can take some pics and post them when i get home tonight. Bill S.

Not an ideal location for beans - they need sun and heat. In fact, not all that many veggies are very shade tolerant - greens of any kind are your best choice as most others will require at least 4 hours of sun. Just an observation but vegetables do not often make an attractive addition to an entry garden.

Sorry for the delay in answering...my brother in law passed away after a long illness. My sister in law just had a triple bypass on top of other health issues..so we have been helping her. (she can't stay alone) Thanks for the tip about Crep! I will try them tomorrow. (back at the office and swamped playing catch up! lol Kelly, H have Nahema and have enjoyed the few blooms I have had. She is still young and not putting out new growth from the ground...but does send out shoots with buds. I am now cutting off the buds to focus on root growth. Very healthy, just hasn't taken hold, I guess...

You can use gray with north light, but it has to have a lavender undertone. You can also use red with north light, but choose one with a raspberry undertone.
