Australian natives in SW France

I have just started to grow a few Australian natives for my garden in SW France. I have two Grevillias and a couple of Callistemon that seem to like the soil and climate. We live on a limestone ridge and the weather changes from as cold as -8 in the winter to long, hot summers - as hot as 40 degrees at times. I have sown some Silver Wattle and a some eucalyptus (name unknown)and they are now perhaps 6 to 9 inches tall in pots. I have two questions really, can anyone recommend a good web site or book to help me identify young plants and are there any plants in particular that would cope with the two extremes of temperature that we get here?
