If you want to use Cutter II because you think it's the best for your area, then use it. I personally haven't seen it listed for sale on the seed retailer's sites, so finding it may be a problem. Cutter II's biggest issue for me would be it's gray leaf spot susceptibility. There are several cultivars that perform just as well, or better than Cutter II at home lawn heights, and have better disease resistance profiles. I suggest you pick 5 cultivars that did well in the NTEP and then see which ones you can source online. For the creeping red fescue the best in terms of appearance and shade tolerance would be one of these cultivars: Epic, Fortitude, Garnet, Cardinal, and Wendy Jean. For full sun areas: Garnet, Fortitude, Cardinal, Wendy Jean. Again, if you get 3 hours of full sun in your shady areas, you could use tall fescue, which blends better with PR and KBG, but that's your call. Yes Bewitched mixes well with compact midnights due to it's dark color, but that is if you are creating a blend for an all KBG stand. Since you are creating a mix of different species it isn't necessary to have more than one KBG, but if you want to use more than one then that's fine. To find cultivars use google. In the search bar type in the specific cultivar followed by seed e.g. "Cutter II perennial ryegrass seed". Alternatively you can search for turfgrass seed sellers, and see what they offer in terms of cultivars.

Goodbye Neigbours is actually a trademark which is now invalid because it has become the identity of the plant itself. The originator of this plant has never offerred a variety name . If the name of the plant was say Houzz Special it would be written like this Acmena smithii 'Houzz Special' GOODBYE NEIGHBOURS TM Here properly used GOODBYE NEIGHBOURS only tells you who produced the plant and is NOT the identity of the plant itself which is 'Houzz Special' If I used the trademark HIDE YOUR NEIGHBOUR I could write the description like this Acmena smithii 'Houzz Special' HIDE YOUR NEIGHBOUR TM ...The variety name stays the same 'Houzz Special' but the buyer can see its produced by the business that uses the trademark HIDE YOUR NEIGHBOUR

I guess the obvious question is whether the branches have broken off or dropped off. A number of native species (particularly eucalypts) have the ability to drop branches in times of stress (e.g. drought). The branches separate at the point where that join the trunk or main branches. I have never heard of Lillypillies doing this. If the branches have broken off, there could be a number of explanations; the branches could have been weakened by disease or borers, the tree could have been stressed by drought, or it is possible that that an animal (e.g. possum, cat etc.) is responsible. Is there anything special about the placement of this tree as opposed to the unaffected one ? It could be that this tree is the 'onramp for a possum highway'. Just a few thoughts. Ian

If you wanted to try cuttings, Pos02, check the advice given on raising Gymea seeds on the forum. This info is also true for cuttings. You need relatively new growth to form the cutting material and there are various ways of providing a cover for the cuttings. Use cut off plastic drink bottles and remove the cap. A number of cuttings will fit into a 5" pot and when carefully separated, are easily transplanted to their own pots to grow on for a while.
