What type of geranium is it? Could be just a little shock from transplanting. Geraniums are a fairly carefree plant. They like full sun and little water. If the soil is damp or too moist the leaves will turn yellow and drop off. Edna :-)

Oh my goodness, I love the colour. I see a bit of coral in it? That is more incentive to pamper the ones I've got so they make it through to spring! They are looking good now, and the red is setting up some buds, so I will let it bloom to make sure. Thanks Patty. I will send you a private email sometime in February or March about mailing, though with our weather, mid to late April may be a safer timeframe (or early May!). I would think I'd need to check the weather all along the mail route to be sure the time is good. Thanks to the original poster asking about miniature geraniums, and somehow it has morphed to be a wonderful gift for me! I hope the origianl poster has had positive luck locating some in her area.

I bring some of my pelargoniums in every year, only to spare my wallet for the coming Spring. As soon as I bring them in here in zone 5/ma no matter how I care for them I end up with browning or dropping leaves--messy- I have a sun room with sliders on three sides and it is heated and used through out the winter season. I will get some good leafing and flowering for a bit and by February I will be tired of picking up after them. I could save myself the trouble and just bring them into the cellar but guess Im thinking I am always prolonging the green season. So guess my answer to all in the NE or zone 5 area to expect some droppings of foliage and the lesser light the stringyer (is that a word?) the plant. However, on a bright note there is an older woman here in town (on MAIN street (the showy street ya know) that has red geraniums on her windowsills all winter season. Now that I am getting older I bet those are artificial!!! Hey whatever, they look great and sure makes her house look cheery during the grey winter months. Jacquelyn

Thank you for the reply gardengal, I've seen some pictures of really beautiful and big geraniums a lady in Canada has been growing, apparently indoors, TheyGeraniums I saw were grown from seed, they were from the Black Velvet series, maybe I should try them? I didn't notice my geraniums getting leggy at all, the new leaf growth and new branches have the leaf nodes very close together. But maybe all new stems are like that at first and get leggy over time? My window is pretty big, it's 60 inches wide and 75 inches tall. I live in the 4th floor and it gets pretty hot in here, maybe it's too hot and they're drying out because of that? I have read that geraniums like the temperatures a little big cooler than what I have inside. We've gotten some days where it was over the 100's outside. I also have Kalanchoes and a Sweet Williams Dianthus that I got at the farmers market on the same spot and they have been doing very well, my Dianthus has rebloomed at least 3 times since the first blooms when I got it. I also had a Zinnia that also had a second bloom indoors but it got Powdery Mildew... I have a light meter app on my phone and I get readings of about 1000 ft candles at noon and I've gotten over the 6000's later in the day around 2 or 3. I have a small South facing window, I'm going to put my geraniums there and see if they do a little better.
