Thanks for the replies....it makes me a feel a little better....unfortunately I have to look at these ugly things all summer....right next to my walkway! Will the wrinkled look go away? none of my other plants appear this way it's possible there was a frost...i dont know if hers were up or not because they werent at my home! Not sure what the worm looks like you mentioned, but i did find a 1 cm long black with silver striped wormy looking thing on top of the soil during a slug hunt last night. i also found many ants on one leaf...

listen jed ... your name indicates you are a beginner ... welcome to the gardening world ... but i have to tell you ... you really need some more plants.. so you will quit fixating on this particular one ... lol if it were me ... first... all house plant get a systemic drench of bug killer... cleans the soil .. and cleans the plant.. from the inside out.. summer is the perfect time to do this.. because you can do it outdoors.... i am not for a lot of chemical use.. but house plants.. i want them clean when they come back in the house in fall ... i do not recommend specific chemicals.. that is for you and your local nursery to figure out.. read and follow all instructions COMPLETELY ... second ... after a proper dose .. once the plant is 'clean' ... learn how to propagate it ... as i recall it is pretty easy on this plant ... i am sure google, or one of our friends can tell you how ... that way .. should this one become too much of a problem ... you have one or two more ... which are exactly the same plant ... i would try to propagate 5 ... so with failure rates... you end up with a second.. and have a few for gifts to friends ... plants do NOT live forever ... and sometimes its easier to just cut your losses and move on .... and i wouldn't repot it.. until the babes are on their way .. so if you kill the big one... well .. you have more .... that's what i would do ... good luck on your new hobby .. ken

Well, Chas, the leaf looks like a caterpillar of some sort, but as for the bits of stick underneath, well, reminds me of what white cockatoos do to my African Tulip tree and other things around the place; they take a few bites and then just drop the rest and start on a new one - seed pod usually of the African Tulip tree. Bird damage? When do you find it Chas, early in the morning? what birds are about? any caterpillars? Looks like something is chewing the stems in half and then just dropping the bits to rot! Ummmm, suspect it's a nocturnal something or other. Dunno what else, what about going out at night with a torch, surprising what you can find in your garden at night mate!

We had beautiful wood-grain style tile in our master bath and liked it well enough until I saw the newer luxury vinyl planks. I had to be convinced to even consider them for our new house, but after reading posts on this site and going to a reputable flooring distributor, I am convinced that this is the best alternative to hardwood. Softer and warmer and yet your house could be underwater for months and the floors would still be intact. You have to decide between SPC and WPC (I'm going with WPC) and glue down (quieter - even though we have large rugs) or floating installation, but I was stunned by the beautiful options.
