I got mine in a trade from someone here but I don't remember who. I have no idea where they got them. I hope it grows. I'm going to keep it on the seed mat and put it outside in June (in a container) if it lives that long. When I looked it up I read that the seeds could take 4 weeks but I had no way of knowing how fresh they were so I didn't toss them so fast. I'm glad I didn't. I have a number of seeds that have sporadic and/or long germination times and have a tendancy to forget about them. I have recycled soil before and had surprises growing in the containers, especially certain pipevines and passion flowers. I must have at least 10 pots of plants that have an extra plant growing with them. Karyn

I gave one a try last year - and just like Wallisadi said, mine also did not make it through the heat I grow a lot of Aussie orchids and they are not easy to grow - they all tolerate cold well and low humidity, but they do not want to get all hot and sweaty.... For example, both Australia and California are famous for their cymbidiums - which makes me think CA and Australia are more similar in their general growing climate than us. To grow cymbidiums in Fl, one has to find heat and humidity tolerant varieties... The Kangaroo plant sure was cute, I wish I still had it growing :) Olya

I have a friend looking for this plant. I haven't been able to find one of the orange varieties mail order yet though I've found seeds. If anyone comes across it, I would appreciate if you would share the info. Thanks!

I'd love to trade some Xanthorrhoea preisii - grass tree and Pepino seeds. see my gardenweb trade list below Here is a link that might be useful: Emily's Trade List
