I found a source for Obscura cuttings. I am still interested in Serpens particularly. If anyone else would like to trade but doesn't have what I am looking for then I would consider any other Hoya that I do not already have. - Thanks for the consideration David

I would love a few cuttings (rooted would be a bonus) of Hoya Serpens. I would be happy to send cuttings of my Sheperdii in exchange or cuttings from my salmon, yellow, white or fuschia colored Christmas Cactus o nce it blooms for color identification. Sincerely Kim

Tammy, Wow, every two weeks?! The ones I have in the house (where we keep it cool, cool, COOL) get watered once a week pretty much year round. I don't like to let them get too dry... The ones in the GH get water every few days as they're out in the heat. It's hard to keep up with the watering in the GH this time of year as I have lots of other succulents to stay on top of also. That little serpens, though, is a bugger. I've found it's a tough one to water right. The fine line between too much water, which causes the leaves to yellow and drop, and too little water, which makes them dry up, is like walking a tight-rope! It's been doing pretty good lately - I put it in the sunroom late this winter because I read they don't like it real hot, and I think between the cooler temp and the ceiling fan that blows constantly, I've got the right conditions now. Hi Patrick & Welcome! Very cute little Serpens you've got there, looks good so far. If you don't know this, this plant's leaves tend to stay small, say no larger than a dime, that's part of its charm. I see you've just joined today, you might want to read around a bit here first. Generally speaking: Hoyas do best when potted small, so there's no hurry at all to pot this up bigger. Also repotting &/or potting up are best done in Spring. It's a bit late in the season to fertilize, that's best done while the plant's in its most active growth (Spring/Summer), unless you're growing in warm places like CA or FLA. Bright dappled light is the way to go (as opposed to direct, very bright light or hot sun). May I suggest you sit back, enjoy your Serpens while it settles to its new home & perhaps use the time to read around here a bit to see what their general care is like.
