Could someone please tell me if it is possible to propagate my mandevilla from root cuttings? I had to repot mine and I cut off several tubers. They had multiplied so much they had filled up my pot. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The rooting hormone will speed up the rooting process... with a 0.1-0.3% IBA the rooting of mandevilla cuttings take 20-70 daysto root in soil......to root in water expect the process to take 3 months or more to root & many of the cuttings will rot if left in water that long.

The bottom part that is kind of brown roots well in water. I havn't had any luck with the green part. Good Luck Patsey

Well, I potted up a half a dozen cuttings - 5 or 6 cms in length about 8 weeks ago, and potted them on into single pots today; all had healthy roots. I'll leave it till spring now to plant them out (N.S.W Northern Rivers dist.). If your area is a bit to cool, I'd leave it till new growth begins in spring.
