but this oriental variety hasn't set it's seed for me at all. ==>> be nice to know the variety ... then we could discuss sterility .... and it would be interesting to know where you are ... i cant recall... in my MI ... my poppies self sowing .... annual Ps, yes... not perennial ... probably zone related ... why cant your established plants simply be divided??? ... its what he did to get his root cuttings .... if you divide off a half dozen plants ... wouldnt that be enough??? .... this method would be great if you are wanting a couple hundred new plants ... i would never mass plant Ps .... as they have a rather short bloom period ... again.. here in MI ... though i always want some around ... finally ... if i were messing with HORMONES ... i would be wearing gloves ... not that i would expect roots to pop out of my butt ... lol ... but why risk it .. ken
