Pink Wisteria Tree

I planted a pink wisteria tree about 5 years ago just after we had moved into our new house. I had been given one previously as a present when our daughter was born but we have since moved from that house. I have been told they sucker really badly and in fact my mother suffered with the remnents of one for several years ( resorting to spraying every time she saw a new sucker put its head up thru the ground, almost on a daily basis for a while).

So should I remove mine before it gets too big? So far there has been no signs of it suckering and the tree itself is about 20m from the house ( we live in a rural area). But if I should remove it I'd like to do it before it gets too big or if it hasen't suckered yet could I be safe in leaving it there as it seems like it will be a good shade tree.

Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has had experience with this tree.

Thanks
