Have you guys seen the new doubles Maguire's has posted on their site? WOw.... I'm making my list!! Ryan.

After sending up a scape with malformed flowers, Ms Andrea Maguire is back at it! I see the tip of a second scape poking up. This is actually rather unfortunate, in my opinion, as she has not put down any roots yet, and I'm just too afraid that the bulb will be completely exhausted by the second scape. All of my bulbs were dusted with a rooting hormone before being planted. And all the rest are firmly anchored into their pots. Any suggestions on ways to stimulate her to root? Tried bottom heat and root stimulating fertilizers already. Phoenix Ryan

this is a charming little thing. flowers are on the small side but who knows how they will look after another year. In the meantime, it offers interesting genes for breeding with, though I haven't decided what to try yet. ON the other hand I am totally blown away with my ELaine Grace, that popped into bloom yesterday! I will try to post a pic of it later, but I have to say it beats San Remo, my previous favorite, all hollow as a pink blend!

MaGuire's was a group order, because they only ship to the USA in large quantities... somewhere around 100 bulbs, I think. I'm not really sure. Phoenix Ryan would know... he sponsored the last order. I don't know whether or not they would ship just a few bulbs to Holland... but I'm sure you could find out by emailing them. They do have a lot of lovely varieties... the choice is a large one! And their website is a lot of fun to look at! Very colorful! Here is a link that might be useful: McGuire's Hippeastrum Farm
