My youngest ended up coming down with a terrible ear infection that's lasted more than a week, and between that and my tendency to have my organization quickly become unraveled I think I may have left somebody out that I was supposed to send seeds to. Hi If you are interested in the daylilies or plants that I have listed under wanted Ed Murray, I would be interested in your day lily list. Trades are not hard really. You wash the fans and let them soak while getting off all the dirt. Weight costs. I send daylilies not partially sandwich bagged up and wrapped in wet paper towels and newspaper like you do other plants like hosta, viola or siberian irises. They need the roots part to stay moist. Make sure all plants are clearly labeled. I send tags when I have spare ones but people can be ingenious in the ways they get marked. Pipe cleaners seperate daylilies, newspaper can seperate them too. Venetian blinds, tapes of different sorts and milk cartons can be converted into tags. Use whatever works and remains light weight for mailing. If you can send an unknown in the package it is fun too. Lots of us include a bonus plant like I might send another daylily not asked for but is not on yout trade list or an extra hosta piece or iris, something I can spare, it is not necessary in trading but it makes it more fun. Sending priority and asking for confirmation on a Monday or Tuesday is the way I send things for if you live near Maine no problem with regular mail, that usually means overnight or a day but if I send to hot areas like Virginia or wait until Friday especailly on a holiday, it gets stuck in the regular mail and could rot or be dead by the time they get the stuff. Most traders will ask if you send priority or not and will decide to do a trade or not based on the condition of the plants when they arrive in the mail. I prefer to send them the things as quickly but as cheaply as can be done meaning at first I bought priority mail boxes but reusing one sent to me in trade or using other boxes is okay as long as labels are changed and company stuff blacked out. The post office will approve or disapprove of the box type when they see it.When you say perishable they will mark the box so for priority mail. Keeping a printed list of emails with regular persons you trade with helps too. I wished I had when my hard drive died last year. Learned the hard way. Most set up the trade and when the addresses are exchanged expect the trade to be sent right away but in some cases things just happen like hot weather fries your plant unexpectedly, waiting for it to recuperate is preferable to it arriving dead, last year a hurricane happened. Exceptions can be made so no risking your life to send out a package like one trader did last year. Take care, Juliannna or Zintal That just about covers it I think.

Natanya, You sound like such a hoot! Wish you were my neighbor. I've never tasted a daylily, but good for you. I saw someone asking for daylilies to trade for other plants on the plant exchange. They said they heard they were good "dipped in butter". I sort of cringed without even thinking... seemed canabalistic for a moment. I guess I am really too involved with my daylilies to consider them as food. I guess though that if we were starving, we'd sure be able to go to the garden and do some nibbling. Don't worry about that neighbor...she probably didn't even know what you were doing, and if she did, well so what. Happy gardening, Nina in SE PA

Toward breakfast area between islands Hall to garage on left, laundry on right Hall to bedrooms on right The LR side of the small island makes a connection between our two hallways, the one to the garage and the one to the bedrooms. Clockwise from left side of sink run - Counter to counter where there are no appliances or sink 39 1/4" - Counter to counter at sink bumpout 36 1/4" - Counter to DW handle 37 1/4" - Closest point of range to island will end up being ~36" but it's not set back far enough yet; the range and island overlap (run parallel) for ~8", but mostly the oven door opens with nothing opposite - Island counter corner to L counter corner 64" - MW to island 51" - Closest point of fridge to island 41" (again, handles are not directly opposite island) - Base of stools to base of small island ~26"? (That's a guess) - Left side of island open to breakfast area, but when table and chairs are in, distance should be no less than 36", very likely more, but I have forgotten the measurement. We haven't done any entertaining in this kitchen yet. We completely revamped the layout. When we do have people over, it's mostly informal. We got the stools at Hillary's Home Furnishings in Raleigh, NC, but they were made in China. : / They were a good deal compared to the price on other stools of similar style that I've seen. Pottery Barn sells one. These are 24" high; the seat is 9" deep (sorry I forgot to measure the width); the base is 14 1/2" deep (again, don't have the width). I was trying to calculate a 13' kitchen. Depending on what you plan for the wall behind the island (assuming you have a wall), you may have plenty of space for seating and passage. If you were planning a 24" counter on that wall, you would have ~1" more than I have behind the stools. If a 12" deep pantry cabinet, you'd have ~13" more, or a total of 45" from counter to wall. Do you have a layout posted yet?
