Hmmmm...interesting combination you got there. Lantana is a plant I've grown for several years, but have never been able to find much information on it. In my experience, lantana likes hot and dry conditions. I've never had much luck with New Guinea impatiens, but I'm pretty sure they like a lot of water. As for lobelia, I love it though I've never grown it because I thought it was more of a cool-weather plant and I've heard it doesn't do well in the heat, which is what we've got plenty of here in Missouri. Good luck, sounds like a beautiful basket. I hope the combination does well, but I'd be a little wary since they might each require some quite different conditions.

If that is your last period of frost... yes. For me spring starts around mid Feb but last frost date is mid March like the 15th. But we really get a freeze at that time. And so far we have hardly recieved any frost, maybe about a weeks worth. I already have Impatiens seedlings coming up. I hope this keeps up.

Jamie My guess is that they are too dry. Their root have been growing in a pot and are still in that shape so they suck up all the water in that space. The moss basket dries out quickly and they should be watered more. I am guessing the vines may have been in longer and may not be showing the problem that the Impatiens have. Plus the vine is more woody and can take drying out more anyway.

Jane You kitten should be fine. Though I have heard Impatiens are toxic to rabbits. You may want to get some kitty grass for your new baby. That way he could have his own plant.
