its barely two weeks that each of the bulbs has to come to something. A forced bulb, such as what you've bought, can take two to three weeks after coming into light to show a flower start. You might try giving them as much sun as you can---in a south, or west exposure, and if they begin to show too much, too fast, then simply withdraw them from the light and stop watering. The daffodil can be planted in your garden after it is allowed to wilt and go brown, but will take upwards of 3 years to bloom again. The tulips, no....they have served their purpose and should be thrown away.

Rosefolly, apples in the warm Summer yet medium to high chill Central California climates usually ripen way earlier than anything advertised in the literature. I also noticed that my empire apples are getting close to being ripe. I am also a zone 16/thermal belt. I have some varieties of apples that ripen a good two months before "they are supposed to". I tasted one of my empires, and I want to give mine another 3 weeks. My Macs on the other hand are really just about ready. My advice is not to go according to anything you read. You have to just taste the apples. I usually go by smell. When the apples begin to emit noticeable fragrance, it's usually a pretty good clue it's time to pick. Empire apples just keep getting better and better on the tree, so if you can find a way to keep your dog away, it's well worth the effort. You can also gently pull up on an apple. If it gives, then it's usually ok to pick even if the apple isn't at it's peak. You may still need to let them finish off on the counter until they emit the ripe fragrance.

Hi, Shirley, my goodness, Tx heat does grow beautiful flowers. I was thinking the late summer and early fall is kinda boring months in Chicago, not many flowers out blooming . I was exctied to see my spder orchid bloomed. I love your Catts, large size flower, great colors. What is the name of orchid on your second picture that is pale gren and pink blush on the edge? I love its delicate shape and soft color. All are surely beauties. Fresh-tea, Ooh, I love the purple color, a lots of purple flowers! Your orchid is in such good size, healthy looking. You must have been taking good care it. Molie, I noticed my orchids started to shift blooming time too. I initially thought was due to I divided the plants up, which disturbed their cycles. But some of my established plants seem wanting to flowers earlier. My Twinkles have spikes 8" high now, ready to bloom in a month or so. it usually bloom around Dec-Jan.; My Sharry Baby , two pots bloom in differnt scheduel. One bloomed this summer, and another one has spikes about 6" long tall now. It should bloom in two month around Oct-Nov. They were from same mother plant; is it the sun ray changed somehow, or else. I can't amke any sense out of this crazy blooming schedule changes... Ginnbug, still waiting for yours...

Well, I just got my plants from E & R, an Amish company in Indiana.I wasn't able to insert a picture but have posted a link to a picture of them. See how much smaller the Black Cherry plant is on the far left? Next to it is Cherokee Black, which is taller. Then you will see a Caspian Pink out of its 3-pack and a Sweet Little Girl (already with bloom) out of its 3-pack. Surely they didn't send the wrong, mislabeled plant. Does it start out so small and then make up for it big time? I thought these were a good deal. No minimum purchase. The two 3-packs were $1.99 each and the individual plants were $2.25 each. It was the shipping that was killing: $8.35, for a grand total of $21.33 for 6 plants (I also got two ground cherry plants.) But $3.56 a plant isn't bad. Here is a link that might be useful:
