Some selling sites say they are hardy in zones 5-8 or 5-9. However the site linked below has this info. Anemone coronaria Common name: De Caen anemone, Florist anemone, Poppy anemone and Anemone coronaria These bulbs bloom for two to three weeks in late spring in zones 7 to 10, where they are winter-hardy. They can be planted in the spring for bloom throughout the summer in colder areas. The poppy-like flowers are red, blue, or white. The plant grows from a basal rosette and the individual flowers have stems of about eighteen inches. Each bulb produces multiple stems. This seems to be an anemone hupehensis cross. The normal suggestion for a. hupenhensis is to sow at 68F, if no germination in 3-4 weeks, provide a brief moist chill of 2-4 weeks (40ishF), then bring back to warm for germination. Sometimes knowing a moist chill may help to break dormancy, it's a time saver to just begin with that and not wait to see if necessary. It won't hurt the seeds if they would have germinated without it, and may help.
