Wish I could of found this page earlier in the season. Back in the 80's I had my first Pink Apple. I loved the look and the flavor was good when the apples were fresh off the tree. I purchased a tree from a grower in Graton Ca. He called it Pink Pearl. He later turned over the business to his son who told me there were several varieties of pink apple and a neighbor of theirs claimed he had a darker pink one and had given his dad a graft. I begged him for a scion and went home and grafted it on a piece of apple root I dug up out of a pot as I didn't have any rootstock available. I waited years for it to grow and flower and to produce fruit..Only to find out he had given me a pear graft! LOL good pear though

Hi, Cathy. There are several types of malvaviscus Turks' Turban. Cut and paste as needed. Take a look at http://almostedenplants.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=1 There are two types of red malvas in the catalog. There is just plain arboreus and arboreus drummondii, two reds of which I am aware. See http://www.plantdelights.com/Catalog/Current/Detail/00272.html for more information. Seeds are in the little berries. See http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=malvaviscus+arboreus&btnG=Search+Images. The berry usually has 5 seeds inside. Peel them when red, remove the pulpy flesh with a paper towel and dry them. When spring comes, there is no rush to plant them. They will not sprout until it is hot weather. It was May here before they sprouted in the greenhouse. Do you need some more plants? Would you like to trade?

Strawberry guava are not blooming in South Florida yet. Where I work we have several very old trees that don't fruit till mid / late summer. If you post again or Email me then, I can get you seeds

I know. I have successfully grown Muraya koenigii (Curry Leaf) which is a tropical plant, so things are looking up :)
