So, it sounds like the flowers bloom yellow but then fade to white in about a day or two. However, it is also a prolific bloomer, so it continuously produces yellow flowers, which fade quickly to white. So what you end up getting is this rose shrub that appears to be covered in yellow, light yellow and white flowers, pretty much like the photo below. I certainly wouldn't call it "trash" like the local nursery owner did when talking to Prettypetals. (It sounds like he was trying to hard-sell what he had in stock and that wasn't the Sunny Knockout rose.) At any rate, it is still a beautiful rose plant and will still work in the right setting just like any other plant. Lets' see...fragrant and prolific blooms, drought, heat cold, disease, and insect tolerant; sounds like a winner to me. I will be planting my Sunny KO Rose near a Diablo Ninebark. The light colored blooms on the Sunny KO Rose and dark foliage of the Diablo Ninebark should contrast nicely.

Thanks Alison, It's the same seed as I used last year,but the rain has really pushed them along(up). I sow them alternately- single head and multi head.The singles are black seeds and the multis are striped seeds. Some of the multis have 15 heads and will look nice in the sun.We must have had nearly an inch of rain last night and things are wet!!! chas

Not sure on the width but I like Hefners Red Select. I know of one that has been planted for about 12 years and it still is not that wide. It is a single trunk and not a multi trunk, however it can be had in either. I have a Moonfire and it's already getting pretty wide, I chose it for a mostly shady location as I was told it would hold it's color better than Fireglow. It does get some mid afternoon sun which lights it up real pretty.

Henrik--I'm envious of your Broceliande. The colors on yours are what I was hoping my Broceliande would show, but no luck, alas. I'm beginning to wonder if what passes for Broceliande in America is different that what at least the Swedish are growing. Mine is a quite lovely mad hatter pink and white--but that isn't what I was looking for. And you have so many other petal-packed fat and beautiful blooms on your other roses also, Henrik. Wish I could tour your garden. Kentucky--love your Rainbow Niagra and Joy! Lisa--Princess de Monaco is gorgeous! Doesn't anybody have a bunch of those "sunrise/sunset" type roses--like Tahitian Sunrise (or was it Tahitian Sunset)? At one point, nurseries seemed to be offering lots and lots of those.
