Frances, (Easy Grower!) don't believe everything you read..lol.. I too thought about buying an Aglaia..I found one at Gardinos Nursery, in a 6" pot for 15.00. Logees wants 14.95 for a 2.5". If I decide to buy one it'll come from Gardinos. They have terrific plants. How 'easy' a plant are you looking for? Do you have other plants? If so, what type? There's numerous plants that are easy to care for. Dracaenas for one. I imagine Aglaia care is similar to Citrus or Murraya.' If you can keep either you should be able to grow Aglaia. Of course, this is only my opinion, and what I read during a Google search. Hopefully others will chime in..Toni

Hi perennialfan273. It looks fine to me. The next time you repot just turn the root ball a bit so that the main branch stands up straight. I've grown plants in coir mix before. It is water-retentive; just like peat. If you are able to obtain some bark fine then use the 5.1.1 mix instead (i think i've saw you over in the container forum). If not, then add a lot of perlite to your mix and use a reasonable size clay pot for this plant. Good luck! :)

It's definetly not out of the range of possibilities that it's too wet in the potting mix. I attempted to make a 5-1-1 out of pine bark, but when I switched over all my citrus to a gritty mix and pulled them out it was definetly too wet. But the Jasmine, Osmanthus and Aglaia seem to be doing really well, so I've kind of left them in that mix. It's been really hot and dry the past few weeks so I've stepped up the drip irrigation and give them a sprinkle of Foliage Pro usually daily. And by doing "well" I mean the Osmanthus and Jasmine are growing like gang busters. Maybe I should move the Aglaia over to a gritty mix, but it also looks happy, if not growing up, it's certainly flowering like crazy.
