If you look at the "what are you planting next" thread you're sure to get some ideas, also I'd ahave a look at the Eden & Diggers catalogues, they have lots of interesting plants & good planting guides.
Everyone's garden is in it's own micro climate plus conditions change from year to year so you just have to give things a go & learn from experience. That's certainly my philosophy anyway!

Phoenix Seeds is another seeds comany in Tasmania where I've got seeds before. I was in Hobart for three years, loved it, and it gets pretty cold round there but quite a lot to plant. Gardening Australia is worth watching as the gardens are in the Hobart Botanical gardens and see what Pete's planting. Some of the cabbages, kale, which needs cold, and Broccoli, onions, Broad Beans, potaoes, green and snow peas are winter crops. But winter's ideal for preparing some of the garden beds for next spring.

I have a vegetable garden/orchard over the ridge from you at Kettering.

I have put in/going to put in broccoli, leeks, onions, shallots, potato onions and garlic, peas and broad beans and beetroot. The seeds I put in a couple of weeks ago when the ground was warm...The ground is now cooling down, so germination mind not be as good...

Have a look at Eden seeds site, as recommended...
