Purchased 4 clumps of bambusa chungi a couple years ago and realized I don't want that kind of height... Willing to trade two each for the smaller Baby Blue version. Would need to be a local person willing to pick up (Central Florida, Lockhart area). Thanks for the help! :)

One of my favorites is Thamnocalamus crassinodus v. aristatus (also often called Thamnocalamus aristatus). It's hardy to about 5F or 10F, so might make it for you. It's a loose clumper about 12' and lovely powder blue culms.

DREPANOSTACHYUM khasianum is hardy down to around 20F. BORINDA boliana is cold hardy to around 10F. All of the others that I know of are not very cold hardy, including Bambusa chungii which is very blue but is barely cold hardy here in 8b. Bambusa textilis gets a lot of blue colour to it at certain times of the year, but then turns back to green. Kt

Nice! There the ones that tonk with the wind. I used to work in an old nursery that had a big patch of them. cool sound when it's windy.
