Thanks everyone. Sorry for the late reply. I would love to do a climbing rose or something bigger, but I'm trying to stay away from anything that might be neglected by future tenants and cause a nuisance for neighbors. There is a wisteria here that is out of control and the neighbors hate it. The yard was a little neglected when I moved in. I have seeds for marigold Jaguar and several different Cosmos, coneflowers and black eyed Susan. Save BES, I've started all of those indoors. I have Irish eyes coming up. Do they like heat? The package says full-part sun, but I often have different results then the seed company =) I would kind of like to do a love-lies-bleeding with Irish eyes in that corner, I think that or some marigolds would look striking together. Anyone had a love-lies-bleeding? I had never heard of them until someone posted a photo of hers on here a couple years ago. I saw it and knew I had to try it! Wondering what conditions they do best in?

I cant believe it! I am heading to Tassie for 2 nights in late November and will stay in Hobart. I plan to see: Botanical Gardens in Hobart The Scented Rose in the Huon Valley Prospect Villa and Garden in Hamilton The Prospect Villa & Garden is featured on the cover of "CountryStyle" this month with a terrific article and glorious pictures inside. I will see if I can see some more if I have time. The Scented Rose is being taken over by new people in December so I want to go while I know it will still be open.It will not be open after the end of Nov. I cant wait. I have the flights booked ,now I'm going to find a beautiful B&B in Hobart . We have stayed in a few so that wont be a problem. I also have the Blooming Tasmania book-its very helpful. I am very excited at this little trip. Michelle

As previous posters have mentioned--it's crazy crowded. And immense. I once tried to take it all in at a fast pace in 3 hours and was knackered and still hadn't seen it all.I find it helpful that they usually have miscellaneous vendors in one building and the nursery and plant vendors in another, which makes it easier if plants are your main focus. If you or anyone else attending is buying plants, I would recommend a small handcart or something that doesn't take up much room, but that can hold your goods. Something that won't get you the evil eye from other show goers. Walking for hours holding even something smallish is a pain. Take it from me: I've made the mistake at least twice. They do sell some food (and wine!--fyi located at the middle of the event by the bridge btwn the two buildings) and I always find that despite my energy, I need a moment's downtime from the crowd. There are plenty of seating areas, but always at the periphery of the buildings. And there is a big seating area by the large thematic nursery displays. Hope you and your group enjoy!
