#5-The leaves don't look big enough for S&S.by comparing them to the Lily of the Valley leaves and edgers (4" wide).. I am thinking plantaginea by its color, size and leaf shape. Ken just has posted in another location that he responds better when only 2-3 NOIDs are posted at a time. I agree. You might find reposting with only a few at a time gets better response. I found scrolling up and down so often becomes tedious. the ID as Undulata Medio- is spot on I think. The one suggested to be Francee could be-mine has that scattered eye growth pattern yours shows. And of course leaf shape and coloration is right. Another suggestion is to either give dimensions or lay a 6" ruler on the ground when taking the pictures. Lets say you pick the 2 you would most like to ID and you post 2 pictures of each, one of the mound and the other a close-up of a leaf where veins can be seen.. In one there is a ruler or ball point pen for size comparison. That is only 4 to scroll and gives our peeps here a lot of good information. Theresa

Anna has bent over backwards for her neighbors"let them take out her fence, take out the channel & pile dirt up against HER house! Not on your life would I let a neighbor do all that he could have put that walk in without touching her property." Dirt against her house" might never have been removed!! He could have back-hoed the dirt to his front or back yard. He should have left the fence & drainage alone. Anna is not the problem. The neighbor is making problems for her & whole neighborhood. They may have to go together to get the burning stopped tho it should not take more than 1 visit from fire dept. Anna should get city out on the flood issues & grading issues as a start. Maybe they would inform other depts so she wouldn't have to about the lack of permits etc. A flooded basement would be a very bad & expensive problem for the lady. Hope it gets resolved soon. Anna, when talking to neighbors don't use "you" "your wife" that sounds like you are "blaming them" instead say, "I'm so worried about whether there will be a flood in my basement, it just seems like the channel should be in or something so I thought the city could tell me what needs to be done. Be sure to tell them he tore out your wall & channel drainage." Good luck!

Hope you aren't actually being sued.If it's in their yard isn't it their problem to deal with?I got rid of my Plyllostachys nuda before it reached the neighbors,and also my Empress Tree which spread worse than the bamboo.The trumpet vine got away from me and has been putting up a fight lately with the warm humid weather.It's much harder to get rid of than bamboo.My new neighbor is mowing regularly and trimming the weeds so any escapee's from my yard are being killed.Somebody next door was out there with an axe hacking roots, but it was probably Chinese Elm roots and not bamboo.The previous neighbor never pulled those weedy things out and they were about 10 or 15 feet high before the new owner cut them down.Like I said,bamboo is pretty easy to pull out.You just dig,grab onto a root and pull the whole rope of it out.Can be harder though if it gets into flagstone walkways and rock edging.Then you end up pulling the flagstone and rocks along with it.People should talk to each other before going to the law over something as minor as bamboo.

Well, for the first part, they live further down the street, maybe 20-22 houses down to be more precise, so they're not really close neighbours, and for the second part, I work on evening shifts, leaving home at 2 o'clock and I come back usually around 12:45, so when I leave they are still at work and when I come back they're probably sleeping. When they are home in the morning then I'm sleeping. I did however speak with my second door neighbour, who confirmed he really just renovated his upstairs bathroom. Also, It is pretty obvious they did have sewer problems; I have seen plumbers replace their sewer lines from the street to their houses, and lots of drywall, flooring and carpeting went into dumpsters. On two houses, the city even got involved and parts of the street were opened up to perform work down below. So, I might be wrong, but I think it's safe to say there's a 90% chance if I go see them, if they don't tell me to fly off, they will tell me they had sewer problems. Perhaps I could try to get a hold of them during weekends and ask them about the specific reason why they needed the work done, but I thought someone on this forum might already have a clue. I will however ask one or two good plumbers for their opinions.
