I know how you feel wx,I have had a few of those episodes this winter,last night I heard something that sounded like a car blowing down the street!so I decided to go outsde and take a look around,some tape I had used to close a cut I made in the big g/house was ripped open,I had to stuff a couch cushion over it to cover it up!not quite as cold here I don't think but man,the wind had to be gusting to at least 40-50mph,this has happened in one form or another a dozen times this winter and like you I heard my little babies crying out!LOL. I look forward to tomorrow as I will remove the front portion of the biggest g/house and go with a rain sheild/sun cover for a few more weeks until the weather warms up,this weekend when we hit 73F it was 98F in the g/house!its just to hard to keep them cool this time of year and its better for the cactus to be dry and 20-40F then risk having the temps go into the 90s,its just to much stress on them,glad you saved your palms wxman!

I keep mine under a tree in bright light but try to protect it from full sun then bring it in after it has gotten cold but before freezing and it will usually bloom in the house again over winter. It took it two years to bloom again since it had to get pot bound first. If you have to repot it don't go up too much larger in size so you won't have to wait so long. I water it will the other plants when its outside and give it fertilizer only occasionally but I did give it bloom booster about 2 weeks ago when I fed the brugs. Prairie, thats the problem with that Lyrica. It made me forget things and do things I didn't remember when they had me on it twice a day. Getting better after a few days of reducing it to bedtime only, lol. I was driving home from the store after work one night and ended up someplace I didn't recognize and didn't remember driving there so I told them that crap is too strong and I am slowly reducing it, lol.

I found this post by accident and couldn't stop laughing. What a relief to know that I am not the only member of the "wrong car club". I'm not even the only member of the "loading groceries in the wrong car" club, LOL. My husband is always pleading with me to please be more aware of my surroundings. My daughter and I loaded a weeks worth of groceries in someone else's car one time. I got into the drivers side and she got into the passenger seat and buckled up. We were both into our conversation so much we didn't notice someone elses fast food bags and jumper cables in "our" car. It hit us both at the same time ...mid sentence. We grabbed our groceries as quick as possible and ran.Unfortunately, in our hurry, we left our toilet paper in the back seat of the car. I've always wondered what the real owner of the car must have thought when he found an unopened package of toilet paper in his back seat.
