More New plants flowering.

The Gladiolus are now starting to flower, but the rain ruined some of them recently

Such a shame as they are a pretty flower, only the white out at present.

The Dahlia's are trying hard to come to the surface but then the slugs eat them.

They are the first slugs I have seen since leaving Melbourne 11 or maybe it was 12 years ago.

Just hope they dont make a habit of it, or there wont be any left.

One White Dahlia made it and is flowering more to come soon I hope..........Cheers..MM.

Hubby came in yesterday and said whats happening to your plant on the fence.

Would you believe the seed pods had opened and were blowing everywhere, a gardeners nightmare:

It was only when I cropped it really small I seen the raindrops on it.

I am fasinated as to how the drops stayed on the bud another of natures secrets.

You never cease to amaze me, with the variety of flowers you have.
Very nice job on the exposure of the whilte flowers too.

Thanks Barbara, I have been reading about exposure in the new library book I just got.
I dont have a lot of flowers here, just a lot of varities,
Apart from 33 Roses, 21 Bougainvillea, and 14 Hibiscus.
And lots of Day Lillies the rest are only one or two of everything I think.
Though very colourful at different times of the year...Cheer..MM.

I'm working on my shady areas right now. Here's some of what I've planted: Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender' Impatiens Caladiums (okay, they rarely flower, but the have color) Gingers Firespike (this gets big) Gloxinia Streptocarpus Cat's Whiskers Torenia (I found a yellow one) Begonias (all kinds, even the "cheap" ones For deep shade: Orchids (in pots, of course) Peace lilies (amazingly, these survive in my little micro-climate up here in NW Florida) I'm a total garden maniac. My husband cowers in fear this time of year, because I like to get everything planted before the heat sets in, and I'm constantly bringing home plants. Hi Adriana, Our temperatures here in the Bay Area have been at or below 80 degrees for the past few weeks and still are, so I don't think the temperature is the issue ? That is a good idea to try and root some suckers as we hardly have frost until December. Last year I had tomatoes producing even until Jan !! -saila

Hi GH. No they are just the normal Impatiens I bought that punnet about 4 years ago just after we finished building the house and before we started on the garden, I needed something to brighten my days except Gum trees, they are hanging baskets and I had to get hubby to take them down as those drying winds we had last week were drying them out too much. I must say the NG ones are so different I have not got any of them, maybe one day...Cheers..MM.

Agreed with the above. 2 is probably amsonia tabernaemontana; a plant that all gardeners should have 3 is salvia nemorosa which blooms are different looking from the greggii and microphylla that are more common. 4 looks like Oenothera.

Bad luck with those slugs MM,thats a lovely white Dahlia,the Mary Rose so pretty,your a wiz with the Canon,have never grown Gladiola such a pretty plant,cheers Greencroc.

Another lot of great photos, you have such an interesting range of plants. That white dahlia would look great beside my very dark red one.

Greencroc I am still learning so I make heaps of mistakes. Also lost another dahlia to slugs

Hi GH yes that dahlia would look nice beside a dark red, its a big bloom 14cm across.

Another lot of lovely pics. MM such nice colours, my Dahlias get a lot of nibbles from slugs & snails, I rarely get a nice pic. from them, I love the Mary rose
